We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Focused Therapist to join our team at Ellie Mental Health. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Therapeutic Services: Provide diagnostic evaluations, develop tailored treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies such as play-based methods, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with interdisciplinary team members, including medication providers, psychologists, and other mental health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including initial assessments, ongoing treatment plans, case notes, and progress reviews.
- Family Involvement: Engage with caregivers and conduct family therapy sessions as needed to address family dynamics and promote effective support systems.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in the field.
- Education: Master's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Clinical licensure (or working toward licensure) as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or related credential in New York State.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience and passion for working with children, adolescents, and families in a therapeutic setting.
- Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of child development and its intersection with psychopathology, informing appropriate diagnosis and treatment strategies.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in completing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and case documentation, with experience in DC:0-5 or other child-specific diagnostic frameworks being a plus.
