As a Plastic Extrusion Technician, you will be responsible for operating advanced extruding and rewinding machinery. Your role is crucial in guiding the work center team to fulfill production orders while adhering to the established standards set by Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, changeover, and manage extruders along with all auxiliary equipment.
- Engage in die changes and cleaning processes.
- Calculate production requirements based on work orders.
- Follow the production schedule as directed by the planning team or Shift Manager.
- Utilize various precision measuring tools to ensure product quality.
- Identify and rectify any irregularities in the production process.
- Efficiently operate extruding equipment, pack products, and handle materials.
- Communicate effectively with the Shift Manager and team leads regarding production goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Conduct necessary testing and accurately record all relevant information.
- Pack finished products according to specified quantity and orientation.
- Uphold company policies and promote a culture of teamwork and respect.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Complete any required manufacturing training specific to the work center.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks effectively.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor towards work and colleagues.
- Capability to operate material handling equipment (license required).
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands
The role requires:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending and lifting.
- Working in a dusty environment.
Work Environment
