Job SummaryThe Charge Nurse (RN) position is responsible for overseeing the provision of patient care services, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with accepted standards of practice. This role involves direct patient care, assigning duties to LPNs/LVNs and/or nursing assistants, and ensuring a safe environment is maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Observe, assess, and report patient conditions/changes, documenting in accordance with Cantex's Clinical Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
- Evaluate and implement patient care plans, identifying and securing equipment and supplies as needed.
- Direct, monitor, and coordinate the timely delivery of quality patient care by subordinate staff.
- Ensure patient safety, reporting incidents and accidents in accordance with Cantex's Clinical Policy and Procedures.
- Assist in evaluating subordinate staff, providing counsel and discipline as necessary.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained, adhering to Cantex's Disaster and OSHA Manual and local, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations.
- Review and incorporate patient care management systems into the delivery of patient care.
- Ensure compliance with Cantex's Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school and hold a current and valid license in the appropriate State.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language.
