About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Congregate Program as a Family Shelter Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Administration
  • Recruit, hire, onboard/train, supervise, support, and evaluate direct reports to ensure top talent and alignment with our values.
  • Develop and implement procedures for smooth program operations, residence maintenance, and equipment management.
  • Ensure supply inventory, tracking, and monitoring, and congregates are stocked.
  • Conduct regular supervision with staff to develop best practices and provide accountability for service delivery.
  • Oversee program staff activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training programs to improve staff skills and performance.
Program Planning and Development
  • Develop innovative programming using a trauma-informed model to meet family needs.
  • Maintain an environment that fosters communication, collaboration, and consistency.
  • Plan and lead team meetings, house staff meetings, and provide written communications to ensure staff remain updated on protocol.
  • Address identified areas of concern with clients and develop plans to assist families in engaging with our policies and procedures.
  • Review incident reports, shift logs, and other reports to determine systemic or operational concerns and take appropriate steps to address them.
  • Ensure consistency in programming and policies across all Congregate programs.
  • Manage On-Call schedule rotation and cell phones.
Communication and Reporting
  • Provide statistical and programmatic information needed by our leadership team.
  • Provide monthly reports on Congregate operations and client successes.
  • Interface with our Program Coordinator and Strategy and Projects Manager to track agency compliance with required documentation and data collection efforts.
  • Ensure open and positive communication allows staff and families to feel safe in their environment.
  • Review and monitor the Communication Log to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures.
  • Communicate verbally and through written communication, memos, emails, and log documentation with peers, supervisors, and other team members.
Case Management
  • Ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to working with families in Congregate.
  • Triage emergency client issues and lead the creation and implementation of action plans for clients with behavior issues.
  • Provide conflict resolution between clients.
  • Lead intensive Case Management review of Congregate clients.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience.
