Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineering Technician I to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring that it is functioning properly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including visual and mechanical inspections, safety testing, and performance testing.
  • Accurately document all maintenance work and ensure that equipment is properly labeled and calibrated.
  • Respond to requests for service from equipment users, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Oversee warranty repairs and contracted services by outside service representatives.
  • Inventory and inspect equipment to ensure that it is properly maintained and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent in electronics technology or biomedical engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in repair and maintenance of electronic instrumentation with emphasis on medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Knowledge of applicable trade areas, including electronics and electromechanical systems.
  • Results-oriented, mature, and self-developing, with a strong commitment to integrity and quality work.
