Job Summary

As a key member of the Memorial Hermann Health System team, the Advanced Practice Provider Team Lead will play a vital role in supporting the Director of Advanced Practice Providers in providing leadership and guidance to the service line team. This includes developing workflows to optimize team performance, overseeing daily operations, managing and developing service line staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

This leadership position requires a strong clinical background, with a minimum of three to five years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clinical leadership and mentorship for Advanced Practice Providers
  • Develop and implement new clinical policies and procedures
  • Monitor workflow and collaborate with APP Director and hospital staff to improve and optimize high-quality care delivery
  • Review charts for audits and quality improvement
  • Prioritize resources for APPs and patient care issues
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote quality improvement processes and initiatives
  • Facilitate and assist in running clinical staff meetings
  • Encourage and promote teamwork, developing and nurturing individual team member strengths and abilities
  • Structure planning for unexpected APP clinical absences and manage APP team schedule to ensure adequate coverage

Requirements:

  • Masters degree required
  • Current and active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) license from the State of Texas
  • Basic Cardiac Life Certification or Advanced Cardiac Life Certification
  • Minimum three to five years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
