About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team at Amergis. As an Oncology Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Assess and evaluate patients' conditions, including chemotherapy patients
  • Administer chemotherapy, blood products, IV fluids, and medications as prescribed
  • Validate chemotherapy doses for accuracy and ensure patient safety
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluating patient progress and modifying care as needed
  • Record and report all relevant information within facility protocol
  • Perform assessments, evaluate symptoms, and determine essential care required
  • Prepare patients for physician examinations and assist in treatment
  • Educate patients and families about cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options
  • Assist in pain management and provide follow-up care instructions
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • One year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients
