Role Overview:
As a pivotal member of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company's Global Agile Enablement team, you will play a crucial role in advancing the next stage of our Agile Transformation. This team is dedicated to leading the enterprise's evolution towards enhanced agility.
We seek a transformational leader who will cultivate our team of agile practitioners and shape the strategic vision that propels the organization towards achieving enterprise agility.
Key Responsibilities:
This position merges thought leadership in enterprise agile transformation with the management of a team responsible for our Global Agile Enablement services, capabilities, and operations.
The focus is on aligning the diverse needs of the business into a strategically-oriented, top-tier journey for our end-users.
You will directly oversee a team of 4-6 agile advocates, developing agile methodologies, implementing operational processes, and monitoring community engagement and effectiveness.
Your responsibilities will include high-level strategic planning for agile transformation and consulting with various lines of business to establish disciplined and effective agile practices.
As a respected leader, you will be recognized as an authority in scaled agile execution, requiring clear, straightforward, and compassionate communication across all levels.
Facilitate Agility and SAFe training sessions, workshops, OKR meetings, group coaching, and individual coaching, both virtually and in-person, primarily targeting mid-senior management with occasional focus on teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
Engage with colleagues to ensure sustained adoption of Lean-Agile principles and practices across the portfolio, applying practical and relevant solutions.
Contribute thought leadership and insights back to the coaching community to enhance internal coaching capabilities throughout the organization.
Act as a mentor to other coaches and exemplify best practices within the broader coaching network. Stay informed about industry trends and identify relevant case studies for continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
Required: A minimum of 5 years of direct leadership experience, preferably with a background in managing Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, or Agile teams.
Proven ability to drive organizational change and build productive relationships swiftly.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and judgment skills.
SAFe SPC Certification with at least 5 years in an Agile role such as Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, or Product Manager.
Experience coaching across various organizational levels, from teams to mid-senior leadership.
Adept at navigating ambiguity and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional presentation, storytelling, influencing, and relationship management skills.
Strong facilitation, communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team-building abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Organizational Change Management frameworks and Agile Product Management.
Familiarity with agile work management tools (e.g., AzDO, TargetProcess, Miro).
Knowledge of multiple Agile frameworks, methods, and techniques.
