Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Practitioner to join our team at GAP Solutions, Inc. (GAPSI). As a Payroll Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting all payroll accounting duties, including maintaining employee/payroll records, auditing timekeeping records to ensure compliance, and entering new hires into the payroll system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process new hires in Unanet and maintain employee profiles in Unanet.
• Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
• Provide support to the Payroll Manager with processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls using Paycom for 700+ employees.
• Support creating PTO/sick payouts for terminated employees.
• Handle day-to-day employee payroll inquiries from internal and external staff.
• Support end-of-year processes, including W-2s, SCA PTO/sick payouts, etc.
• Support with timesheet corrections.
• Process expense reimbursement through Payroll.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Experience in Unanet and Paycom Payroll is preferred.
• 1-2 years of payroll experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a government contracting environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures, particularly as applied to payroll.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Detailed-oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize workload to meet and maintain deadlines.
• Working knowledge of federal and state taxes, laws regulating pay and wage determination preferred.
