Job Description:

Role:
Provide technical expertise for the electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant. Develop designs, ensure compliance with safety standards, and contribute design insights for various projects. Occasional travel to other CF Industries facilities may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver daily maintenance assistance to address plant challenges and support long-term preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Oversee Capital and Expense projects, including documentation for project approvals.
Generate electrical and instrumentation engineering designs and budget forecasts for reliability and maintenance projects.
Supervise on-site contractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols, budget constraints, quality standards, and timelines.
Evaluate engineering designs and maintenance work packages for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, including instrumentation, electrical, and P&ID schematics.
Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for modifications to instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Assist in project initiation and troubleshooting activities.
Collaborate with the DCS and engineering teams on upgrades to field instrumentation.
Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance skill sets.
Support site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited institution.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a chemical processing facility or refinery.

Required Skills:
Experience in a chemical processing environment and familiarity with Management of Change procedures.

Ability to access plant operational areas, including climbing ladders and platforms exceeding 100 feet, and entering confined spaces while utilizing all necessary personal protective equipment.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and effective teamwork abilities.

Proficiency in PC software applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook, along with experience using electronic maintenance management systems.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.
Experience as a project manager or project engineer on multidisciplinary projects.
Knowledge of medium voltage (5-15kV) and low voltage electrical systems, process instrumentation, valves, and analytical instruments.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including NFPA, API, IEEE, NEMA, UL, ANSI, NFPA 70E, etc.

Understanding of control systems, including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), historians, and advanced process control functions is advantageous.
