Job Title: Senior Fueling Electrical Engineer

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fueling Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Aviation & Federal Global Practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for fueling facilities, including airports, military bases, and other high-visibility projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical, instrumentation, and controls components of design deliverables for fueling facilities
  • Work with clients to plan facility improvements for electrical and controls aspects of projects
  • Perform calculations for cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing, and other electrical systems analysis
  • Design and specify electrical equipment, including service entrance coordination, transformers, generators, and other typical electrical equipment
  • Develop system control philosophies and alarm setpoints, as well as provide EI&C comments on equipment procurement specifications
  • Participate in proposal preparation and design-build / Engineer-Procure-Construct subcontract scope development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in the aviation fueling industry, federal fueling industry, midstream oil and gas transportation industry, water/wastewater industry, or industrial systems
  • Professional Engineer registration required
  • Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in ETAP and/or SKM software
  • Computer-aided design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit
  • Understanding of federal Whole Building Design Guide, Unified Facilities Criteria, Unified Facilities Guide Specifications
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial standards and codes such as NEC, NFPA, API, PIP, IEEE
