Responsibilities:

  • Supports the organization's mission, core values, and goals, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
  • Completes all hours of state-mandated continuing education each year.
  • Promotes and displays a spirit of teamwork in the performance of daily duties through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Supports a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
  • Promotes the property in a positive manner and effectively communicates the organization's values to residents, visitors, co-workers, and the community.
  • Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations.
  • Preparing ingredients for the shift: washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
  • Preparing and operating kitchen equipment for the shift.
  • Taking orders from wait staff or a computerized system.
  • Cooking order according to food health and safety standards.
  • Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
  • Handling multiple food orders at one time.
  • Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
  • Dressing order for presentation.
  • Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides.
  • Delivering food orders to wait staff in a timely manner.
  • Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils.
  • Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
  • Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a cook preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  • Able to quickly manage multiple orders.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the English language, sufficient to speak, read and write.
