Responsibilities:
- Supports the organization's mission, core values, and goals, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
- Completes all hours of state-mandated continuing education each year.
- Promotes and displays a spirit of teamwork in the performance of daily duties through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
- Supports a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
- Promotes the property in a positive manner and effectively communicates the organization's values to residents, visitors, co-workers, and the community.
- Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations.
- Preparing ingredients for the shift: washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
- Preparing and operating kitchen equipment for the shift.
- Taking orders from wait staff or a computerized system.
- Cooking order according to food health and safety standards.
- Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
- Handling multiple food orders at one time.
- Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
- Dressing order for presentation.
- Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides.
- Delivering food orders to wait staff in a timely manner.
- Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils.
- Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience as a cook preferred.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
- Able to quickly manage multiple orders.
- Must have a strong understanding of the English language, sufficient to speak, read and write.
