Overview:

The Substance Use Prevention Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing community health by implementing innovative prevention strategies aimed at reducing substance use within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and support prevention programs by utilizing evidence-based curricula in educational settings.
  • Enhance coalition capabilities by engaging in community networking and leading coalition meetings.
  • Organize and facilitate student groups in local educational institutions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of prevention strategies and program outcomes.
  • Assist in conducting needs assessments through surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
  • Provide expert guidance in substance use prevention and stay updated through professional development trainings.
  • Act as a resource for the community regarding substance use prevention.
  • Deliver relevant training sessions to community members and fellow prevention professionals.
  • Support the implementation of grant action plans and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or an Associate's degree with three years of relevant experience in educational programming.
  • Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) is preferred; however, candidates willing to learn and obtain this credential may be considered.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background screenings.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for transportation needs.
  • Commitment to promoting the understanding that addiction is a health issue and advocating for effective treatment options.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive information encountered during work.
