Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Analytical Services:
Prepare laboratory area, equipment, and instruments for testing, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available and that the work area is clean and organized.
Collect and process specimens for testing, adhering to established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Analytical Services:
Perform and interpret complex clinical laboratory tests on specimens, using a variety of techniques and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring that it is functioning properly and that any issues are promptly reported and addressed.
Post-Analytical Services:
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that results are communicated clearly to healthcare providers.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, including the evaluation of test results and the identification of areas for improvement.
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies, techniques, and procedures.
Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
NYSDOH licensure as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
NCA/ASCP certification in addition to the minimum requirements.
