Job Title: Senior Network Architect

Job Summary:

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Networks team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our global network infrastructure. This includes managing large-scale environments, ensuring high-performance and availability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-performance network architectures to support low-latency trading and data research environments
  • Manage and maintain large-scale network environments, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Collaborate with Systems and Trading Operations teams to build, manage, and monitor our global network infrastructure
  • Develop and implement network security strategies to protect our trading and research environments
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement in our network infrastructure

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related IT field
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in low-latency and high-frequency trading environments
  • In-depth understanding of common layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols and best practices
  • Experience managing Arista, Cisco, and other common networking devices on a day-to-day basis
  • Familiarity with low-latency microwave networks and/or optical transmission systems
  • Experience in designing enterprise networks, capacity planning, and full lifecycle project management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Unix/Linux command line utilities and networking stack
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills on a wide range of networking issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and NAT
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Salt
  • Familiarity with Python, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and GitHub
  • Familiarity with public cloud networks, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

What We Offer:

  • Annual base salary range of $150,000 to $250,000
  • Sign-on and discretionary performance bonus
  • Company-paid medical and/or other benefits
