About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full Service Partnership Specialist to join our team at New Directions for Veterans (NDVets). As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of veterans.
Job SummaryThis is an active work position that requires excellent communication skills, a strong ability to work independently, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of veterans. You will be responsible for providing individual and group rehabilitative services, linking clients to community resources, and working closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
About the Position
- You will be working directly with clients who may be experiencing mental health issues, substance abuse, or other challenges. Your compassion and empathy will be essential in building trust and supporting their recovery journey.
- You will need to possess excellent organizational skills, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain accurate and detailed records. Knowledge of Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health paperwork is highly preferred.
- Your ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, will be crucial in this role. You will be interacting with clients, colleagues, and external partners on a regular basis.
- The physical demands of this position require you to be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach above and below shoulders; use hand and finger dexterity, keyboarding and making and receiving telephone calls. You may be required to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs on occasion.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge related to working in the mental health field.
- Compassion for clients and dedication to making a difference.
- Comfort working with a diverse population, including clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, both in the office and in the community.
