About Us

At the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield, we strive to motivate and uplift young people to achieve their utmost potential. As a Youth Program Assistant, you will be instrumental in enhancing our Aftercare and Summer Camp initiatives.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will provide support in general oversight, childcare, and routine operational tasks. Key responsibilities include facilitating camper participation in activities, ensuring their safety, and upholding a tidy and organized space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in staff training sessions and meetings
  • Oversee campers during activities and outdoor recreation
  • Assist in instructing and leading various activities
  • Ensure cleanliness by sanitizing and managing waste disposal
  • Perform additional duties as required

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Familiarity with safety protocols
  • Capability to work with children and lift weights up to 50 pounds
  • First Aid certification is advantageous

All staff members are required to be vaccinated in accordance with state regulations. While masks are encouraged, they are not mandatory.
