Unit Overview:
- The unit comprises a 27-bed acute medical step-down area equipped with telemetry monitoring.
- Patients typically require a higher level of care than a standard medical/surgical unit but less than that provided in intensive care.
- Specialized care includes hemodynamic monitoring, management of dialysis catheters, and mechanical ventilation for patients with tracheostomies.
- Staffing ratio is maintained at 1:4 to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the Board of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the state.
- Completion of a refresher course within the last six months if there has been a gap in nursing practice.
