Overview
The Hispanic Technology Executive Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Credit Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the credit relationship for our commercial banking clientele, focusing on mid-sized to larger enterprises with annual revenues ranging from $100 million to $3 billion.
Role Summary
The Senior Credit Officer will oversee the comprehensive lending process within the assigned industry vertical, collaborating closely with a team of credit professionals. This position is integral to delivering a broad spectrum of financial solutions, including working capital financing, term loans, and M&A funding. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk teams to achieve both the organization’s and clients’ financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lending process for assigned commercial banking relationships.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and due diligence to assess the financial health and creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and mitigate credit risks within the portfolio.
- Lead the underwriting process for new and existing credit relationships, including amendments and annual reviews.
- Facilitate the documentation process for loan transactions, ensuring all terms are accurately reflected.
- Engage in regular client interactions to maintain strong relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior credit staff, fostering their professional development.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance existing processes to improve efficiency and control measures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit underwriting and risk management within a large financial institution.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending practices and financial analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to make informed credit decisions and manage risk effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degrees and certifications are a plus.
