Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I-CLMB-SA to join our team at Hormel Foods Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute predictive, preventative, and breakdown maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Select, install, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, process, and support equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Support production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures to minimize disruptions to our operations.
  • Use gauges and test instruments to diagnose malfunctions and failures, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
  • Fabricate and install new equipment for assigned projects, and weld, repair, and fabricate parts and equipment as needed.
  • Inspect plant equipment on a daily basis to monitor health and functionality, and conduct daily inspections of process and packaging systems to ensure they are operating within established parameters.
  • Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work orders and maintenance procedures, and capture and maintain information on equipment deficiencies to communicate effectively with facilities engineer/or manager and co-workers.
  • Communicate and interact with the entire maintenance team and larger site operations team to ensure smooth coordinated maintenance operations, and assist in maintaining parts inventory and requisition of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Assist other maintenance or operations team members when required, and maintain housekeeping standards and shop cleanliness to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Implement all safe work practices and programs, including those that support personnel safety, process safety, product safety, and environmental safety, and provide emergency assistance as required.
  • Participate as a member of the company's HAZMAT team, and work with and/or direct outside contractors as required/assigned.
  • Maintain a competitive knowledge base through participation in industry professional associations, vendor training, and continuing education, and perform additional responsibilities as assigned or necessary.
