As an Anesthesia Aide-Tech at Samaritan Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to anesthesiologists, working under the direction and supervision of both the anesthesia medical staff and the registered nursing staff in surgery.
Department DescriptionThe Anesthesia team at Samaritan Health Services is responsible for providing analgesia, paralysis, amnesia, or unconsciousness to patients. We are committed to pre-anesthetic evaluation and care, medical management of the anesthetic procedure, management of the patient during surgery and post-care, and medical direction of any assisting non-physician who provides anesthesia care to the patient.
Responsibilities- Assist anesthesiologists in preparing patients for surgery, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Provide support during surgical procedures, including maintaining a safe and organized environment.
- Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
- Participate in pre-anesthetic evaluation and care, including reviewing patient medical history and conducting physical assessments.
- Assist with post-anesthetic care, including monitoring patients for any complications and providing support during recovery.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year experience in a similar position or successful completion of an ASATT accredited Anesthesia Technician or Technologist program required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
