Assistant Horticulturist

Crescent Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Horticulturist to join its agronomy team at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the exceptional quality of our golf courses and ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Horticultural staff to oversee and participate in daily work assignments, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
• Assist in field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards, and machinery use, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides to turf and ornamental flower beds, maintaining accurate records of treated areas.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address issues promptly, including disease, insect damage, irrigation needs, and weed infestation.
• Lead and guide employees in the maintenance of ornamental flower beds, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Provide supplemental water as needed to ensure optimal course conditions.
• Interact professionally with cabin owners, fellow employees, vendors, and suppliers, upholding the highest standards of customer service and communication.

Requirements:

• High school education required, with a college degree preferred.
• 1 year of golf course maintenance experience, with supervisory experience a plus.
• Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.
