Job Summary

The Electrical Technician II will be responsible for completing preventive maintenance tasks and performing repairs on facility equipment as directed by site leadership. The candidate will install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices. Basic skills and knowledge of motor controls and logic control systems are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to company and customer policies and procedures.
  2. Attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.
  3. Install and connect power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly installed machines, and building equipment.
  4. Troubleshoot and support production controls and automation components.
  5. Basic knowledge of diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures, and replacing damaged parts, broken wires, cables, and connections.
  6. Maintain electrical distribution equipment, including 3-phase 4-wire 277/480 VAC, 3-phase 4-wire 120/208 VAC, and single-phase 3-wire 120/240 VAC.
  7. Replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control buttons.
  8. Basic knowledge of maintaining building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120-volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting, and lighting contactors controlled by the energy management system.
  9. Basic knowledge of the layout of wiring and installing wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings per the NEC.
  10. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on 480-volt or less on all electrical utilities and equipment.
  11. Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent preferred or combination of experience and training. 3 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and a valid driver's license. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Work Environment

Work in an environment where the following safety equipment is needed: steel toe shoes, hearing protection, noise protection, hardhat, eye protection, and hand protection. Abide by OSHA guidelines, including lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines, and all other Company/Customer-driven safety initiatives. Hours of work are solely defined and governed by business volume and contract schedules. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in the face of the customer and subordinates.
