About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Ops Technician to join our Central Infra Ops team at Amazon Data Services, Inc. This role will involve working with established best practices to refine operational procedures and develop new tooling to support our networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, configuration, monitoring, and resolution of issues with infrastructure hardware, software, and connectivity in Amazon corporate offices around the world.
  • Ability to travel within geographical work area is required.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Display a commitment to quality and strong multitasking skills.
  • Work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to maintain infrastructure health.
A Day in the Life

As an Infrastructure Ops Technician, you will be responsible for installing and troubleshooting infrastructure hardware, software, and connectivity. You will also solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context. You will maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting. You will be biased to act in the absence of direction or support. You will improve effectiveness through process innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in STEM area preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science, may be coupled with certifications to include CCNA, JNCIA + industry experience or 2+ year's IT systems or relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains: Compute (Server and virtual machines. Wintel/*nix), Networking (Fundamentals Cisco CCNA or equivalent), Scripting (automation).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years' hands on experience on Cisco routers/switches/firewalls.
  • Experience working with data and telecom carriers to procure, deliver, and activate network circuits.
  • Experience administering, deploying or supporting Aruba wireless network equipment.
  • Demonstrated track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
