Role Overview

The Data Engineer is a critical role within our Enterprise Operations & Technology teams, responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.

The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring the development of conceptual, logical, and metadata solutions using JSON schema.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Trace lineage for client metrics across products and business lines
  2. Design and maintain blueprint of lineage record tracing, logical data models, and data quality rule recommendations
  3. Develop conceptual, logical, and metadata solutions using JSON schema
  4. Define model and rationalize target state logical data models, socialize with key stakeholders, and conduct walkthroughs
  5. Unify data concepts across finance, product leads, credit risk, and applications across Citi
  6. Participate in requirement gathering sessions with business leads, operations, SMEs, technologists, and governance teams
  7. Inventory lineage records to create end-to-end transparency and expose fragmented data functions for process simplification
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Architecture, Data Science, and/or Data Modeling expertise
  • Hands-on experience in developing large complex data models and building complex IT systems
  • Experience in Capital Markets/Banking/Retail/Research domains
  • Financial Industry knowledge in commercial banking, capital, and investment banking and markets is a plus
  • Strong experience in relational modeling, UML modeling, and metadata management tools
  • Experience in Modeling and architecture tools such as Magic Draw, Ewin, Enterprise Architect is a plus
  • Expertise in Data Management methodologies involving architecture, modeling, storage, security
  • Good understanding of data governance - defining strategy, developing goals, principles, and policies
  • Demonstrated influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills
  • Track record of interfacing with and presenting results to senior management
  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, and good interpersonal/communication skills
Education

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

What We Offer

Citi offers a competitive salary range of $113,000 to $170,760.00, as well as discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
