Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Matrix Design Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software professional to work on innovative technological projects.

About the Role

This position involves designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance software applications using Modern C++. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on software engineering best practices and be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop High-Performance Software: Utilize Modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) to create robust and scalable applications.
  • Maintain Legacy Software Applications: Ensure existing software applications remain up-to-date and efficient.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Optimize Code: Focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability of codebase.
  • Conduct Code Reviews and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers to ensure they develop strong software engineering skills.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on Modern C++.
  • Skills: Proficiency in C++11/14/17/20, familiarity with the C++ Standard Library and Boost, experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel programming, and knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000. Additional benefits include first-day coverage of all benefits, no premium medical, dental, and vision insurance, on-site health clinic, basic life insurance, optional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, 401(k) plan with up to an 8% company match, FSA for healthcare and dependent care, 10 paid annual holidays plus vacation time, educational reimbursement program, scholarship program, and optional gym membership.

Working Conditions

Daily job duties will consist of office, lab, and desk work with occasional field testing required. The employee may be required to work underground, but on an infrequent basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near large moving machinery, customer operations may contain airborne particles and allergens, and Matrix employees are furnished and required to wear safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe shoes, reflective clothing, earplugs, and safety glasses.

Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop or crouch. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
