Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of designated areas within the facility. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

DIRECT REPORTS: None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complies with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks.
  • Performs cleaning duties in assigned areas, including guest rooms, hallways, and common spaces, through the following tasks:
  • Sweeping and mopping of floors
  • Cleaning and polishing of surfaces, fixtures, and trim
  • Scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors
  • Vacuuming and shampooing carpets and upholstered furniture
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment
  • Washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork; cleaning windows and door panels
  • Emptying waste receptacles and cleaning ashtrays
  • Transporting waste to disposal areas
  • Regularly replenishing restroom supplies
  • Reporting maintenance needs and light bulb replacements
  • Assisting with the setup of furniture for events as needed
  • Returning all cleaning supplies and equipment to designated storage areas at the end of each shift
  • Conducting routine maintenance on cleaning equipment as necessary
  • Adhering to all safety standards as outlined in the Safety Manual and departmental guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant experience or training may be considered.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must possess a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor, with the ability to engage guests and foster a positive atmosphere.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Ability to read and understand basic instructions and correspondence. Capable of writing simple messages and effectively communicating in small group settings.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret simple data.

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

Ability to follow detailed instructions and address straightforward issues as they arise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
