LPN Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled LPN Supervisor to join our team at Friendly Senior Living. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for supervising the nursing service and ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess the quality of care being rendered throughout the Home and make staffing adjustments as needed.
  • Provide general supervision of the nursing staff and act as a resource person to all levels of nursing personnel.
  • Provide orientation of emergency procedures and nursing procedures for agency personnel and new staff.
  • Makes independent decisions in regard to patient care within the perimeters of established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates emergencies and initiates appropriate actions in emergency situations.
  • Provides continuity of care by interpreting the departmental philosophy of care and goals of nursing service to the nursing staff.
  • Interprets administrative and departmental policies and procedures to staff and assures compliance with established policies.
  • Evaluates and/or participates in the evaluation process for the nursing staff.
  • Assists Nurse Managers and Charge Nurses to handle personnel grievances.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or courses in supervision desirable.
  • Minimum five years progressive nursing experience.
  • Ability to meet the public and participate in professional programs.
  • Current NYS Registration and Licensure.
