We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Per Diem Medical Assistant to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Exceptional Patient Care: Provide face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact for examination, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedures.
- Collect and Document Patient Information: Gather and document patient information, including vital signs, chief complaints, review of medications, allergies, health risk screen information, and other services.
- Assist Healthcare Professionals: Assist physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures as directed.
- Coordinate Patient Care: Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies.
- Administrative Support: Assist with tasking, phone calls, and messages; document all actions taken.
- EMR Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate and complete EMR documentation for all assessments and procedures.
- Infection Control: Prepare and clean patients' rooms and set up instruments and equipment according to protocol while maintaining infection control.
- Medical Assistant Program: Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or willingness to obtain by date of hire.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a medical assistant.
- Phlebotomy Certification: Phlebotomy certification.
- EMR Experience: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
- Bilingual: Bilingual English and Spanish.
The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
