Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physician's orders.
  • Operate scintillation detection equipment to measure isotope concentrations and scanners to record visual representations of the isotope concentrations in specific body areas of the patient.
  • Conduct organ or body scans on patients with radioactive isotopes to provide diagnostic aid to physicians.
  • Administer isotope dosage and record dosage administered following established departmental procedures.
  • Observe patient during procedures and report unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform laboratory tests on body specimens.
  • Compute results of laboratory tests.
  • Keep records of tests conducted, test results, and disposition of isotopes and body products containing isotopes.
  • Offer expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.
  • Escort patients to treatment room.
  • Assist with dressings as necessary.
  • Complete all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Log nuclear medicine procedures completed.
  • Process routine paperwork.
  • Provide protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Ensure the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologist's care.
  • Conduct daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance.
  • Report all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.
  • Arrange preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Maintain radiation detection badges and files all radiation reports.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of clinical and clerical supplies for Radiology Department to ensure efficient operations.
  • Order, log, and return outside films requested from other agencies; complete appropriate documentation.
  • Arrange for the release of films to patients and outside agencies.
  • Maintain paperwork for tracking loaned films.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years' experience as a Nuclear Medical Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
