At CoreCivic, our mental health teams play a vital role in making lasting changes in the lives of offenders, setting the standards of care in the industry.

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Coordinator to join our team, responsible for planning and providing clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature in our facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting Mental Health Screenings: Conducting mental health screenings and assessments based on a review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
  2. Providing Treatment: Providing treatment to inmates by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
  3. Documenting Treatment Activities: Documenting treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
  4. Maintaining Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
  5. Providing Mental Health Assessments: Providing appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area.
  • Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
  • Must possess appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
