We are seeking a qualified part-time lecturer to teach undergraduate geology courses at Sonoma State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geology and experience in teaching large-lecture format general education courses.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Geology at Sonoma State University offers a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Our departmental objectives include providing students with a broad, fundamental background in geology and its applications to prepare them for careers in industry, professional licensure, or graduate study.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate geology courses, primarily large-lecture format general education courses
- Assist with the Geology Department's recruitment efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related Earth Science field and/or extensive professional experience in an Earth Science-related industry
Full-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Salary is commensurate with degree level and experience. The full-time monthly base salary range is $4,530 - $6,056 per month, prorated to the number of units worked.
