We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse II to join our team at Dallas County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform health screening and assessment services, initiate treatments and/or immunizations per approved protocol, and provide education and counseling to patients and other professionals.
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical assessments and investigations, administer appropriate treatment and/or immunization, and obtain laboratory specimens.
- Conduct comprehensive educational counseling to patients and other professionals, and function as a preceptor for patients and other agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working overtime during regular schedules and weekends with advance notice from the supervisor or department head.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- One (1) year of work-related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, departments, and the general public.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
- Ability to travel to various work site locations.
This position may be located within a secured facility, requires the ability to restrain and/or chase youths, and be on-call 24 hours for unit emergencies. An extensive pre-employment background investigation will be conducted on all applicants who have been offered a position with Dallas County.
