Job Title: Part-time English Professor

Clark College is seeking a part-time English Professor to join our team in the Basic Education, English, Communications and Humanities (BEECH) unit. We are looking for an individual who can work effectively and collaboratively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a campus climate that provides active-based and equitably designed opportunities for student learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach pre-college and college-level composition, technical writing, and literature courses
  • Use a variety of instructional modalities, including in-person and online, and extensive use of technology
  • Keep current in the discipline and renew skills through professional development activities
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
  • Demonstrate respect for others and ability to work with others to achieve educational goals
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or higher in English (or related discipline)
  • Postsecondary experience teaching composition
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds
