Job Title: Recovery Coach

Mountainside Treatment Center is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recovery Coach to join our team. As a Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in their recovery journey, providing guidance, structure, and accountability to help them achieve sustainable recovery.

Job Summary:

The Recovery Coach will work closely with clients and their families to develop and implement individualized recovery plans, providing education, advocacy, and support to help them navigate the recovery process. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to clients in their recovery journey
  • Develop and implement individualized recovery plans, including setting and achieving measurable goals
  • Assist clients in locating personal and recovery-based resources, such as AA and NA meetings, therapists, and support groups
  • Facilitate a smooth transition back to work, home, or school, while carrying out Mountainside's recommended continuing care plan
  • Assist families in establishing positive modes of communication and practicing self-care
  • Schedule random laboratory testing (toxicology screening) for clients and document results
  • Develop an agreed-upon Wellness plan that documents clients' progress
  • Refer clients to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services
  • Monitor clients' progress in recovery and adapt additional services as needed
  • Prepare and maintain reports and case histories using proper documentation techniques
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or minimum 2 years' experience and/or knowledge regarding the spectrum of substance abuse treatment
  • Certification as a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to diffuse tense situations
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple priorities independently
  • Strong understanding of ethics and boundaries as it pertains to the client-coach and family-coach dynamic
  • Practices good self-care and is able to recognize the signs of countertransference and seek assistance during supervision as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster strong relationships with clients and families
  • Extensive experience with Twelve-Step, Smart Recovery, and/or Refuge Recovery programs is strongly preferred
