Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Our Emergency Department is a 21-bed unit, with staffing ratios for nursing at 4 to 1. We stagger our nursing shifts throughout the day to cover the highest volume times with the most staff.

We care for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, and work as a team to provide the best possible treatment. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our new patient care model has been designed to provide high-quality, efficient care, and to reduce unnecessary wait times. Diagnostic X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and MRI is available for most of the day, seven days a week.

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center and is in the process of initiating a TeleStroke Program in collaboration with BWH and MGH.

Requirements
  • BSN required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse License required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
  • ED experience strongly preferred
  • 2 years' telemetry experience preferred
  • Adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
  • Must show evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management
