Job Summary

McGregor PACE is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Eligibility Specialist I to facilitate Medicaid renewals for our participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate participant records, communicating with participants and staff, and ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and conduct appointments with participants to obtain necessary authorizations and paperwork for Medicaid eligibility renewal.
  • Act as a Medicaid Authorized Representative for all McGregor participants, responding to participant questions and concerns.
  • Expedite the application and renewal process with the Special Medicaid Benefits Center and other organizations to obtain necessary verifications for Medicaid eligibility.
  • Communicate regularly with the Eligibility Manager and staff regarding delays that may affect participant eligibility.
  • Document all activities during the Medicaid application and renewal process.
  • Provide support to participants, families, and PACE staff regarding Medicaid eligibility.
  • Responsible for McGregor PACE AR aging, making collection calls, and instituting payment plans after past due letters have been mailed.
  • Responsible for preparation of CMS reporting and communication requirements.
  • Maintain accurate participant records in Truchart and other software systems.
  • Send out temporary and permanent PACE medical cards.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in home or community-based Medicaid waiver programs and health/social services programs preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with older adults, especially dementia, preferred.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge and some experience in Ohio Medicaid and Federal Medicare regulations/systems preferred.
  • Current Ohio driver's license and reliable car required.
  • Basic proficiency in Windows and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills; strong communication skills preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
