We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Cardiac Sonographer.

In this position, the selected individual will be tasked with executing, measuring, and interpreting various cardiac ultrasound assessments. This includes M-mode two-dimensional imaging, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler, color flow Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), stress echocardiograms (including pharmacological stress testing), intraoperative echocardiograms, 3D reconstruction, tissue Doppler, color M-mode, contrast echocardiography, perfusion studies, acoustic quantification (AQ), acoustic densitometry (AD), as well as vascular assessments such as color flow Doppler and imaging of renal arteries, carotid arteries, aortic stents, and pseudoaneurysms. The role also involves supervising and mentoring student sonographers, cardiac fellows, and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures patient comfort and organizes equipment for procedures. Prepares necessary equipment and supplies in accordance with established departmental protocols. Engages with patients by introducing oneself and confirming the patient's identity through ID verification or verbal acknowledgment. Clearly explains procedures and equipment to patients while maintaining their privacy at all times.Provides training to new sonographers, students, and other medical center staff. Instructs personnel on scanning techniques, equipment usage, and the review and interpretation of echocardiograms in a clear and concise manner. Educates new sonographers on updates to existing or new departmental policies and procedures. Acts as a resource for junior staff, utilizing expertise in the field. Collects and prepares technical data accurately for research and publication.Maintains equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety. Cleans and prepares equipment for patient use. Sterilizes equipment following each isolation patient and TEE study in line with nursing and departmental guidelines. Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance to guarantee equipment operates efficiently and safely. Makes recommendations regarding departmental needs and evaluates new equipment options. Coordinates with service personnel for equipment maintenance in the absence of a supervisor.Documents echocardiograms according to departmental protocols. Inputs, maintains, and records all relevant data. Alerts physicians to any changes in patient conditions or vital signs.Utilizes patient charts to gather pertinent medical history as necessary. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy, cardiac hemodynamics, electrophysiology, and major cardiovascular disease processes. Performs, assesses, and critiques echocardiograms, determining what is essential for a complete diagnostic evaluation. Notifies appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities requiring immediate attention. Is prepared to assist the cardiologist during cardiac emergencies. Compares current echocardiograms with previous studies to monitor changes in patient status. Completes assignments within a reasonable timeframe.Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree (Two years of college) and completion of an accredited Ultrasound program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDCS).Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is required.Must maintain active registry status.

Preferred Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with more than three years of experience.

Qualified candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
