Job Summary:
Leonardo DRS Land Systems is in search of a full-time Level III Planner. This role is crucial for orchestrating program material requirements to ensure timely delivery of production in accordance with contractual obligations. The Planner will oversee material release to production based on the master production schedule, supporting work order builds, while maintaining precise material line balances to guarantee inventory levels align with on-time contractual deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) by assessing production capacity, material availability, and contractual commitments.
- Collaborate with production, materials, and program offices to secure consensus prior to MPS execution.
- Maintain comprehensive MPS documentation.
- Oversee the closure of outdated programs/jobs, including the management of requisitions, purchase orders, and residual inventory.
- Monitor shipping performance relative to MPS and contracts, generating tracking reports.
- Document and report changes made to each MPS.
- Engage with contracts, planning, master scheduling, and production teams to formulate and sustain the Internal Operating Plan (IOP).
- Ensure the seamless transition of products from production to packaging and shipping.
- Create analytical reports comparing actual shipments against forecasts.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing to establish and refine a stable production schedule.
- Enhance existing systems, functions, and daily operations to better achieve objectives.
- Manage rescheduling of daily delivery requirements as necessary to meet internal demands and contractual commitments.
- Consolidate demand for purchase requisitions.
- Promote and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough understanding of business processes and functional interrelationships.
- Strong expertise in project material management.
- Extensive background in production planning.
- Proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
- Excellent knowledge of MRP systems.
