Position Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Overview: As a vital contributor to the project development and execution team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide hands-on engineering expertise in the creation of diverse electromechanical assemblies tailored for government clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project management and timelines while collaborating closely with the R&D team on prototype construction, testing, and evaluation.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies utilizing SolidWorks, ensuring seamless integration with electrical and chemical engineering teams.
- Adhere to Mil-Std specifications throughout the design process.
- Generate detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks and ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing.
- Maintain organized SolidWorks part and assembly files, with a preference for experience in PDM systems.
- Act as project manager for comprehensive projects, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Keep an updated Bill of Materials (BOM) for all assemblies.
- Lead prototype development and engage hands-on with the engineering team.
- Coordinate directly with vendors and the procurement department to acquire necessary prototype components.
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in SolidWorks.
- Proficient in creating 2D and 3D drawings.
- Strong background in design for manufacturing principles.
- Experience in conceptual development and mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of mechanical design and electro-mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with new product development and introduction processes.
- Project management and engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with prototype builds.
