Position Summary
The Innovation Engineer plays a pivotal role within the FFF Enterprises operational teams, focusing on the assessment of physical processes, handling systems, business operations, and production metrics to identify areas for enhancement. This role is crucial for designing and executing more streamlined processes.
The Innovation Engineer is recognized as a subject matter expert, facilitating the creation, development, and execution of distribution, pharmacy, and administrative processes. This position leads initiatives aimed at process improvement and capacity enhancement, guiding operational teams through necessary physical and systemic changes while ensuring robust controls are established to sustain these processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational data and workflows to pinpoint and quantify improvement opportunities.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to articulate problems and opportunities in a measurable way.
- Gather and evaluate data related to identified issues and opportunities.
- Transform raw data into actionable insights using database applications such as SQL Server, Google BigQuery, and Access.
- Present potential improvement strategies to stakeholders, creating or sourcing necessary input, testing data, and financial analyses to validate proposed approaches.
- Strategize and allocate project resources to design, develop, and implement initiatives, ensuring alignment of resources and materials.
- Oversee external resources required for project completion, collaborating with internal teams to maintain uninterrupted operations during implementation.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project communication plan, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed throughout the process.
- Create process flows and documentation to clearly illustrate the interaction between personnel, processes, and technology in both current and future states.
- Calculate labor, material, and overhead costs associated with existing and proposed processes, presenting findings in an easily digestible format.
- Utilize office equipment effectively, including computers, scanners, printers, and other necessary tools.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Progressive experience and skill development relevant to the role.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Proven track record of high achievement and excellence.
- Experience utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to address complex challenges.
- 1-2 years of experience in an engineering or supply chain role, with essential functions developed.
- Hands-on experience in distribution, manufacturing, or high-volume pharmacy operations.
- Familiarity with automated processes, machinery, and robotics.
- Experience in financial analysis.
- Background in designing and implementing warehouse processes supported by advanced WMS.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas:
- Process Design and Development
- Large Scale Systems Implementation
- Lean Improvement Initiatives
- Cross-Functional Project Management
- Business Requirements for Software Design
- Effective Management
- Data Analytics
- Financial Analysis
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office and at least two of the following software packages:

- CAD design software
- Visio or similar process mapping software
- Access or other SQL-based analytic software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with clarity and timeliness.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Sound decision-making capabilities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform tasks requiring vision, hearing, and manual dexterity. Must be capable of viewing a computer screen for extended periods and sitting for long durations. Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. and the ability to kneel and bend may be required. Occasional travel may be necessary. Work is typically conducted in a standard office environment.
