Job Title: Traveling Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of procedures and patient safety, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Physical Therapist with the treatment of patients to restore them to their prior level of function.
  • Follow required guidelines and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical function and alleviate pain in patients.
  • Document patient progress, goals, and response to treatment.
  • Stay informed on treatments and techniques to benefit patients.
  • Establish and maintain channels of communication with the nursing team and therapist.
  • Assist with interventions as necessary for patient safety.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
  • Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.
  • Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of patients.
  • Demonstrate appropriate social skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow direction.
Requirements:
  • Must maintain a valid state physical therapist assistant license.
  • Must possess basic computer skills; intermediate skills preferred.
  • Must possess therapy services knowledge, leadership, and delegation skills and experience.
  • Must pass company required drug screen and physical and background screening.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel to company locations.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency is required. Prefer medical background such as MA or LPN.
Work Experience:

At least 2 years of experience.
