Structural Design Engineer

Tri-State Overhead Crane, a leading engineering-driven crane manufacturer since 1959, is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team. Our company has built a reputation for serving general contractors, municipalities, and various manufacturing companies with our expertise in designing, manufacturing, installing, and maintaining overhead cranes, runway systems, fall protection systems, and lifting beams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer specifications, product concepts, and related documentation to determine the best overall solution and design.
  • Perform technical calculations for the design of crane supporting structures, affiliated components, and buildings, focusing on steel and concrete design.
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, industry standards, and customer specifications.
  • Check drawings and calculations performed by other engineers and designers.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with the engineering department, draftsman, sales team, and production.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 3-5+ years' experience or more in design engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing and metal fabrication desired.
  • Knowledge of AWS and AISC standards.
  • PE (MO or IL) preferred but not required.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills dedicated to meeting schedules and budgets.
  • Strong communication skills - listening, verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Ability to read and create schematics using SolidWorks.
