Position Summary:
We are in search of a driven and experienced Employee Benefits Account Executive/Producer to enhance our Employee Benefits division.
A successful candidate will actively seek and generate substantial volumes of employee benefits and health insurance for small to mid-market businesses in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. This role also encompasses marketing Medicare Supplement and Part D plans to our clientele and association partners.
This position presents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Account Executive to cultivate a significant portfolio by utilizing existing relationships and cross-selling to current clients of R.K. Tongue Co.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet new business acquisition and retention targets. Identify new coverage options for both existing and prospective clients and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
- Manage the onboarding process for new business and renewals, which includes organizing group meetings, enrollment processes, and the distribution of administrative materials.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key client stakeholders while identifying new sources of influence.
- Stay informed about the Health Marketplace to develop and refresh marketing materials for both new and existing clients.
- Remain updated on current Medicare regulations and market changes to act as a consultative resource for our clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carrier representatives, keeping abreast of new product offerings, procedural updates, and market trends. Participate in seminars, training sessions, and carrier meetings to stay informed about new client solutions.
- Ensure clients are informed about compliance obligations (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, SPDs, Form 5500s) through meetings, webinars, legislative updates, and other resources.
- Act as a liaison between clients and carrier representatives on escalated service matters, ensuring that client concerns are addressed promptly.
- Participate in marketing initiatives such as industry meetings, seminars, and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Health Insurance sales.
- Life and Health Insurance License (Maryland, D.C., and Virginia).
- Medicare AHIP Certification.
- Proficient in using electronic filing systems and Agency Management Systems such as AMS360 for documenting client interactions, follow-ups, and service issues.
- Strong knowledge of the Affordable Care Act or relevant consulting experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex regulations to clients and team members for informed decision-making.
- High level of professionalism; must be self-motivated and results-driven.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
