Position Overview

This role involves the design and development of software tools and methodologies to enhance existing products and facilitate new product traceability initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leveraging Rockwell FactoryTalk Suite
  • Programming Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Data collection and analytical processes
  • Designing plant layouts and optimizing material flow
Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software vendors to address bugs and implement enhancements.

• Develop visually engaging charts, graphs, and HMI designs.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for software and operational procedures.

• Serve as a technical resource for Manufacturing Engineers across the organization.

• Lead the engineering design process encompassing concept development, design, drafting, construction, documentation, installation, and ongoing technical support for manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to quality, capability, cost, and timeline objectives.

• Initiate and execute capital or expense projects that include:
  • Investigating both new and established manufacturing, data collection, and traceability technologies.
  • Planning the necessary capital and time for technology implementation.
  • Drafting Capital Expenditure Request (CER) proposals. Following project approval, responsibilities will include:
    • Acquiring essential equipment.
    • Overseeing installation in the manufacturing facility.
    • Ensuring compliance with budget and schedule targets.
  • Engaging in product and process design evaluations, with a focus on enhancing product quality while reducing production costs.
  • Support standardization efforts by specifying and procuring similar control equipment and components, and participating in the development of standards.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required (Software Engineering or Control Engineering).
Essential Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of engineering experience is required.

• Attention to detail is crucial.

• Proficiency with the Rockwell FactoryTalk software suite (Studio 5000, Administration Console, Transaction Manager, View Studio, FT Directory, NGT2) is essential.

• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering within an automated machine tending environment is advantageous.

• Formal training in SQL or another database language is preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, flow charts, and Allen Bradley PLC code is necessary.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools (charts, pivot tables, PowerBI) is preferred.

• Understanding of structured programming principles is required.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential.

• Experience in production environments is a plus.
