We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to join our team at Augusta University. As a key member of our faculty, you will provide clinical care to patients at the Children's Hospital of Georgia and associated outpatient clinics, as well as telephone support.
Responsibilities- Provide empathic, family-centered quality care to pediatric medical and surgical patients from birth to young adulthood, including prenatal consults.
- Support the care of patients with a wide range of disorders, including consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and patient/family education.
- Maintain and ensure that relevant patient records are properly updated and share weekday coverage.
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university or equivalent.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or have equivalent clinical experience.
- Must have or be eligible for a State of Georgia Medical License, Federal DEA, and be certified in CPR.
Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills, practice evidence-based medicine, and have a desire to provide education regarding palliative care to multiple levels of trainees.
Educational responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing mentorship, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at AU and developing a more in-depth educational experience for trainees in palliative care.
BenefitsThis position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
