About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a member of the surgical team in the scrub role, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Participate in maintaining the readiness of the Operating Room, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical experience.
  • Maintain a professional work environment, promoting a culture of respect and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate accountability for own self-development, staying up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program, with a strong foundation in surgical principles and practices.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers, providing exceptional patient care and service.
  • Fine motor skills, with the ability to wear a surgical mask and gloves.
  • Auditory skills, allowing for clear communication with patients and colleagues.
  • CPR certification, with the ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases, with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays and take call as needed.
