Job Overview:
The Accountant I plays a vital role in the generation and distribution of comprehensive, accurate, and trustworthy financial data. This position is essential for ensuring financial integrity, adhering to regulations, and aiding the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the General Ledger along with all associated subsidiary ledgers.
2. Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP standards.
3. Conduct Balance Sheet reconciliations.
4. Manage records of Fixed Assets and their depreciation schedules.
5. Analyze monthly variances between Budget and Actual figures.

6. Collaborate with Operation Managers and the Director to review monthly Budget to Actual variances, providing detailed insights to the VP of Accounting and Taxation while identifying necessary corrective measures.

7. Compile various reports related to cash receipts, expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial gains and losses.

8. Engage in system implementations to meet accounting and financial objectives.
9. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
10. Maintain comprehensive accounting workpapers.
11. Identify and resolve accounting issues effectively.
12. Work closely with the Operations team to address challenges and enhance processes.
13. Prepare documentation for external audits, including those from banks and fiscal authorities.
14. Lead internal audit activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and accuracy in financial records.
15. Utilize independent judgment and initiative to address problems and propose solutions within the accounting domain.
16. Ensure timely compliance with tax return deadlines and adapt to new governmental regulations regarding accounting and taxation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Preferred 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize substantial volumes of data.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and under pressure, meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on customer service.
- Detail-oriented and thorough in all tasks.
- Flexible and a collaborative team player.
- Capacity to maintain high levels of focus and concentration over extended periods.
- Dependability and reliability.
- Knowledge of Accounting, Tax, and Insurance principles and practices.
