Job Opportunity

Purdue University's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Lecturer position to support instruction on the Indianapolis campus. This is a full-time, academic year, non-tenure track position at the Indianapolis location. The successful candidate will be expected to provide instructional support for the Weldon School's program by teaching courses from the Biomedical Engineering curriculum and contributing to ongoing course development.

The position includes the following duties:
  • Teaching up to 3 courses per semester in large-enrollment courses
  • Working with staff and TAs and assisting in coordinating courses
  • Participating on BME Undergraduate and Graduate Curriculum Committees and contributing to ongoing curriculum development
  • Collaborating with other faculty to assist in course development and ensure consistency across sections offered at West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations.
  • Supervising multiple teams of Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) and Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) sections, as needed.
  • Assisting with other duties related to teaching and mentoring students, as needed.
Requirements

Candidates for the position must have completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or closely related field. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is required. In addition, successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in innovative pedagogical techniques and project/problem-based learning.
