Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain all packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of packers to ensure the most efficient packing of products.
  • Review and adhere to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
  • Monitor and adjust weight control of packaged units to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Record and track lot information as required.
  • Maintain standard production quantities and rates for each product.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant labeling and coding.
  • Contribute to a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company standards and protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on packaging equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to resolve mechanical issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Participate in quality control initiatives and contribute to the development of process improvements.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  • Prior machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to pass an oral and written test to demonstrate required knowledge and abilities.

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with regular exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors. The employee must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move around the facility as needed. Ear protection, eye/face protection, and other personal protective equipment may be required.
